Reviewing the Regency Miami Airport by Sonesta Hotel

Miami is a major tourist destination that’s always booming with visitors all year around. The number one question when planning a trip is “Where is the best place to stay?” With a wide range of hotels, Airbnbs, hostels, and motels, finding the best fit can be overwhelming. Factors like pricing, location, and amenities mean a lot when it comes to comfort, navigating the city, and more. Let’s look at a the Regency Miami Airport by Sonesta Hotel as an option for your next visit to the 305 or a staycation if you’re a local.

The Regency is a 3-star hotel under the Sonesta International Hotel brand. I stayed at this hotel before when a flight was cancelled, courtesy of American Airlines and I enjoyed it despite my short time there. It’s located close to the Miami International Airport and since Miami isn’t a huge city, it’s not too far from areas like Wynwood, Brickell, and Downtown. Depending on time and traffic, it’s about 15-20 minutes away from those hot spots.

The average cost per night is between $100 and $150. Keep in mind this depends on the season. Prices tend to increase during the peak season of spring and summer and decrease around fall in winter. However, there are events all year round in Miami (Art Basel in December for example) so price will vary.

Amenities:

  • Free shuttle bus to the airport (Perfect for convenience and cruise vacationers)
  • Free breakfast
  • 24/7 Gym
  • Pool
  • Business center
  • Works alongside American Airlines for complimentary stay if necessary

Pros:
  • I love that it’s close to the airport and there’s a free shuttle bus.
  • It’s decorated beautifully. I love the gold and cream colored interior with a touch of classic elegance.
  • No issues with bed bugs or critters.
  • My room had a balcony

Cons:
  • While I enjoyed my room, and it was clean for the most part, I noticed some very small spots that were not as clean. Hotel seems to be a bit older so there were a few cracks in areas like the balcony floor.
  • Requested room service assistance and it was not sent to my room.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and I would recommend it. There were a few small hiccups and things the hotel can improve on, but I enjoyed my stay and I would recommend it.
